Thursday "Stuff"
For the past few weeks...I am slow, aren't I...I have been drawing iris. This top one is the last I did. It is pen and ink and watercolour pencil. I think I like it best. What do you think?
This one is colored pencil, and I like it also, but not as much.
This one is TomBow marker...don't particularly like it, except the colours.
Last weekend we were in Tolar, Texas, with my longest/best friend, Dianne, and her family and some other friends. She plays bass and sings and her husband, Dub, plays guitar, fiddle, and sings. This is one of the songs they sang that day, Carmen. Raf was in the circle, too, on the right, and a friend of Dianne, Keron Vanlandingham, is on the left. There were about 5 other folks there, too.

Thanks so much for sharing these with us. They are beautiful. I'm with you, though. I love the softened edges of the watercolor pencil best. I think it perfectly captures the quality of light and translucency these gorgeous flowers display. I have a friend whose husband was an amazing watercolorist and he always loved painting irises. Perhaps the ability to capture that quality is why. Thanks again.

I love and have the utmost respect for all three drawings.
How great that you are able to use different techniques.
I haven't painted for years.I like oil on canvas. There I can easily hide my many flaws.
