Two Women and Time

We were in Barnes & Nobel yesterday, and I drew this woman reading. I like it. And I think it rendered her very well. Raf said he thought it really showed the way she looked like.

Last night we went to H2Jo to hear Casey James, and I drew this woman. I also used Graphitint pencils to color it.

Question: the first took about 10 minutes...no color, etc. The second took about an hour, and it doesn't look like the woman at all. What's the answer??
