EDM--Weekly Challenge #56--Self Portrait

Well, I did it. I tried. It doesn't look a thing like me. DH looked at it and said, "Well, it has the requisite features...glasses, hair cut the right length, nose, mouth, but it doesn't look a thing like you."

Yep, but at least I attempted it, thanks to the EDM group. So many people on the EDM group have encouraged each other to try, and I know if we don't attempt and practice whatever we wish to do, we won't get anywhere!

So, for better or for worse, I tried. This was my first attempt to draw a person of any sort.

Husbands are the worst critics. They either say "That's lovely" just to shut you up or pick things to pieces to show how much they know :-)

Well done on rising to this challenge.

Yay! Good for you! The nice thing about drawing yourself is that your model is always there when you're ready to do another drawing! :-)
Good work!

Hi Sioux - You braved the self-portrait. Is there anything harder? You did an especially nice job with the mouth/jaw area. I liked the shaving mug line drawing, too. Your blog is a fun read.

hi there! thank you for visiting my paperjournal =)

excellent sketch! for me, i don't think self-portraits have to look like you too much; only *feel* like you at the moment you draw it. your drawing has that look of concentration -- looking intently at something, perhaps a mirror? =) great job!

Trying and practice is what it's all about, so I'd say you've succeeded just fine, however you feel it turned out. I'm glad you took part in the challenge
