Movin' On

This was my column in the Index today.  I hope if you normally read my column you will continue to read me here, and please comment!

See ya in the funny papers!

Me and my former kitty, Gus, years ago

For quite some time I have been contemplating a sabbatical from writing for the Index and the North Texas Star, and with lots of prayer I have come to the conclusion that now is a good time.

As some of you know I have written a couple of books.  One is Images of America: Mineral Wells and the other is a mystery novel set right here in Palo Pinto County called Home to the Brazos.  Folks who have read Home to the Brazos have been encouraging met to write a sequel, which I have been planning almost since the first was published.  Now is the time, I think.  The working title is Murder on Dodson Prairie and will feature Bill Routh and many of the other characters from the first book.

I also am working on a memoir for our children and grandchildren where I will endeavor to chronicle all the stories they have heard and will, hopefully, help them understand their roots better.

I will also be keeping in touch online, and if you would like to follow me, please feel free.  I am on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sioux.seibert.  I will be posting very little on Facebook, as I am exhausted from the controversy, and I am endeavoring, as some of you know, to be still, seek God’s guidance, and witness to my faith and beliefs in another forum.

To this end I am going to start up my blog again which is entitled Sue Looks into the Wood and can be found at http://siouxsue.blogspot.com.  I have not written on this blog for over a year, and I hope to catch up and write my stories and opinions here.  So, if you’re a’mind to, check it out.  I will post links to new blog posts on my Facebook page.

Finally, Raf and I have a website called Oak Cottage.  It can be found at http://www.oakcottage-tx.com.  This website is a compilation of my writing, my art, and of his music and photography.  It also has pages devoted to history and genealogy.  You can find some of my back Chasing Our Tales columns here. Also, I have created a blog called Chasing Our Tales at http://chasingourtalesgenealogy.blogspot.com.  It is an infant so don’t be surprised if it takes a while to get up and walk!

Finally, I do manage my church’s website at  http://stlukemw.com for anyone who is interested.

You can also contact me through email at sue_seibert@att.net or by letter at P O Box 61, Mineral Wells TX 76068-0061.

I hope to continue my journalistic and writing journey on these levels, and I hope you will continue to enjoy reading my work.  God bless us, everyone.
