Thoughts on My Life

This is just one of my issues, but this cartoon says it very well.  This is one reason I am no longer posting on Facebook except links to my blogs.

However, for those of you who read my farewell column, I did not mean to say I was only blogging.  I am, in fact, writing a sequel to my first novel, Home to the Brazos.  If you would like to read it go to Amazon!  I am also writing an autobiography.  I hope to have them both out in time for Christmas!

And a Christian - and that is the main reason for dropping all the stuff on Facebook, and for that matter, for stopping writing for the paper.  I feel that I would be edited too much.  I am a Christian, white, straight, conservative, Southern, gun owner. I am a history lover who does not want to re-write history.

I believe that everything the Executive and Judicial branches of the US government have done recently are wrong, and I feel that many of the Republicans in the legislature have sold out!

I am thankful to live in Texas, but in Oklahoma they greeted Obama with Confederate flags.  Have we done that?  They have also cut off welfare to druggies.  Have we, here in Texas, done that?  I think NOT.  It's time to put up or shut up, and I do not intend to shut up!  Ever!

We were established as a Christian nation - a nation under God - but we cannot God to bless this nation unless it goes back to Him.

‘Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable… We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from sin and Set us free. Amen!’
