Tuesday in Texas

Yesterday it was warm and partly cloudy. Last night it poured rain for about 10 minutes with loads of lightening and thunder for several hours. Today it is cold and windy. The wind has really bee wicked here for the last few days. It can carry you along without your having to move a muscle. That's Texas for you. Wind has hitting 30 mph in huge gusts.

As for the photos below. Just some I took that I thought were interesting.

This is my old hand touching Turtle's fur. A tortoise shell cat has the most beautiful coat...especially our Turtle!
This is our old fellow Gus. He's about 15 years old. He and Turtle are very affectionate kitties, and both of the purr to beat the band!
Here Gus and Raf decided to take a cat nap.
Have you heard of a "dog in the manger"? Wikipedia says, "

The Dog in the Manger is a fable attributed to Aesop, concerning a dog who, one afternoon, lay down to sleep in the manger. On being awoken, he ferociously kept the cattle in the farm from eating the hay on which he chose to sleep, even though he was unable to eat it himself, leading an ox to mutter the moral of the fable:

People often begrudge others what they cannot enjoy themselves.

So here is our cat in the manger. I have warned her that she is not to knock down the shepherds, wise men, etc.! However, Turtle has a mind of her own!

Cute cats.

Hi Sue. I did not know the tale of the "dog in the manger" though I had heard the saying. Thanks for the history lesson.

Pretty kitties as usual. And what posers.

Dear Sioux ~~ I enjoyed seeing all your photos and also your grandson who graduates from College. He has done very well. I have a very old and very dilapidated book of Aesop's Fables. Thank you for your visit to my blog and I am sorry it is so cold and windy in Texas just now. I do
hate wind and it makes me cranky Take good care my friend and have a wonderful Christmas and trip to the graduation. Love, Merle.
