One Elephant Ear

One Elephant Ear

Well, I took photos of the plants today, and this afternoon I drew this elephant ear from a photo. I used colored pencils on moleskine, but I don't like it artistically nearly as well as I do the ones before using pen and ink and watercolor. Technically, I suppose this one is better, but I don't like it. I think this is saying to me, again, that I like working in pen and ink and watercolor better than colored pencil...and I like to results much better. What do you think??

SUPER JOB, SIOUX -- BUT LIKE YOU, I PREFER INK AND WATERCOLOR ... BUT THIS IS STILL BEAUTIFULLY DONE!

It is wonderful Sioux! I think it is very artistic. I love colored pencils in my Moleskine. Love how they glide on. But, I also love the ink and WC. Whatever works. Don't give up on the colored pencils.

Sioux it is easier for you to blend colors in watercolor and let the color fade out. Once you learn to do this in colored pencil you will like the results better. Try under coloring in the compliment or adjacent color.

You did another great job capturing the shape and curves of the leaf.

well, I like the graphic quality of this one - the way it could almost be a map.
I am partial to pen and ink myself-maybe we are related:)

I think you are really bursting out in these and I really like them. I know that the pencil si more definite than pen and ink but they are different mediums and I really like it Penny in south Australia
