Chocolate Carolina Byways Quilt

I just finished this. It's about 70"X70". I liked the way it looked like a stained glass window in the first photo, but in the sedon one you can more of the details. It's a Christmas gift...can't tell you for whom, as they might read this. I am going to back it with minki fabric...the softest fabric! I will do it in chocolate brown if I can find it.Here's the quilt again, so that we can see the road passing through the quilt.
Today I made the front of a green pillow which I'll show later in the week. I'm almost finished with the mermaid, and I'm working on a cotton vest of pink and white. I also have three or four denim purses and felted change purses, plus a bunch of other Christmas stuff. But I'm reading Simplify Your Christmas by St. James. I want this to be an old fashion Christmas.

It's gorgeous! Is this the fabric you bought at the shop in Ketchikan?
Even though I don't quilt, I loved browsing in that shop!

I love how it looks like stained glass. And calling it Chocolate is totally inspired.

Wonderful! I want to travel the Chocolate Byways, sounds great!! It's fabulous, Sioux, I just love the effect of the light shining through, too.
Your quilt is beautiful, piecing is such a lot of work. I am a rebel quilter and don't follow any traditional rules or patterns...BUT I LOVE to see this kind of work in others. You're right it looks like stained glass.
I also like those guitar lights, how cute!
