First Day of Spring Road Trip
Today was a beautiful day, with the temperatures in the upper 70s. The birds were singing madly, but we saw few wildflowers on the sides of the road. And, since this is Texas, we check Spring by the mesquite trees. If they aren't in bud, it can still get cold. And they are not in bud yet! However looking a Wunderground Weather tells me it's very unlikely to freeze again. We shall see.
Today was a wonderful day, and we traveled to Tolar, Texas, to visit with my oldest, closest friend. We have known each other "since before we were born", as my mother used to say.

We had a wonderful time visiting with Dianne and Dub. Dianne and I never run out of things to talk about!
Kitty was beautiful, but he didn't want his photo taken. I did it anyway, and he licked my toes!
The Honey Locust was in bloom beside Di's home. Sorry the blooms are not in focus. This was the prettiest flower we saw on the trip!
Of course the sun was in the wrong place for this photo, but it looks so typically Texas, and it's one of my favorite scenes on this road (FM Road 1188). This used to be a place that sold cedar posts.
It was a wonderful day. The First Day of Spring!
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.
your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.
you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
in your light we see light.
~Psalm 36:5-9
