If you are interested in reading a true life murder mystery, set in the 20th Century, I recommend this book, set in the North Central Texas area, particularly Erath County. It is the story of the Snow ax murders in 1925, what led to them, and what followed afterward. While the author, James Pylant, is a little too verbal when it comes to dates and names, often calling one person by several names, the story is quite intriguing, and I have spoken to the grandson of the sheriff involved, and I believe Pylant is as true to the actual happenings as it is possible to be. It is a self-published book and can be purchased from our local Mineral Wells Book Satchel as well as from Genealogy Magazine. If find no listing for from Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
