This Yellow Bellied Sapsucker, along with the Golden Crowned Kinglet, are only two of the rare birds we are seeing at our bird dripper. Check out my Flickr page!

Dripper is Heaven to our Birds!
Our dripper is being used way more than we see! I am so glad we have this dripper. We run it summer and winter. I think it means more than all the feeding! The cold front is in and still no appreciable goldfinches, siskins, or juncos!
The camera took 180 photos in a 24-hour period at the dripper.

January Challenge at willowing.ning: Balloon
Tam, at willowing.ning, holds challenges each month. This month the challenge was "Balloon". This is what I wrote: "January 2011 Challenge from willowing.ning is Balloon. So here am I, age 6, carrying my balloon. This must be at the State Fair of Texas. The year would be 1949. I am in first grade in Stephenville, Texas."

More BirdCam 2.0 Moved to a New Location
Raf moved the BirdCam 2.0 to a new location. We have six feeders and one water dripper, so we are trying to move the camera to different locations. We have a lot of birds. Obviously we have tons of white winged doves, and we have lots of English sparrows, as well, but we have a chickadee in these shots, too, and I have the rear of a wren that I didn't put up. We have goldfinches, cardinals, titmice, woodpeckers, kinglets, creepers and more. The challenge is to get the camera set right to get them.

Journal 1-03-2011 Blithe Laughter
The phrase Blithe Laughter that I just read in a book made me think of blue and music. Blue Music - Blithe Laughter. The tinkling of faerie bells. The giggling as musical as the tiniest of wind chimes, as soft as the fur of my Turtle cat. But with the silery sound of the bells comes the quietness of a golden sunset far in the western sky. Blithe Laughter, faerie bells, wind chimes on the cool breath of the evening wind on a hot summer's day. Shhh - do you hear it? The innocent faerie princess before she meets her prince.
